Abstract
Monuments are an important resource of the country and also regions. The aim of the study is to present the main features and specificity of the material cultural capital of Wielkopolska region, Poland. The core of this work is the stock of immovable monuments, which constitute their material cultural capital. The study uses a combination of a quantitative and qualitative approach to monuments. It has been characterized in terms of the main cultural values (historical and semiotic) and use value. The analysis was carried out according to the size categories of towns and rural areas, which made it possible to discover the specificity of cultural capital in these areas.
